NGS Program Plan for Executive Committee 2023-2025

On 17 May 2023, a Special General Meeting of Nepal Geotechnical Society was held at Entrance Café, Lalitpur to discuss annual activities and financial report of the year 2022 and to elect a new team of executive officials. The following team of executive officials was endorsed by the Special General Meeting, and it will be in the office for two years from 17 May 2023.

Note:
– Executive meeting will be held at least once in a month.
– The lecture program will take place either once a month or in sets of 2 lectures over a 2-month period, aligning with festivals and work schedules. The format of the lectures can be either physical or virtual. We strongly encourage individuals with expertise in geotechnical engineering, academic research findings, and relevant work experience from around the world to participate as speakers for these lectures.
– NGS members will have the opportunity to attend two training/ workshops annually, with a notification period of 15 to 30 days in advance.

    • Roadside Cut and Fill Slope Design Guideline/Manual (Standards)
    • Bridge Foundation Design
    • Guidelines/Manual (Standards)Geotechnical Testing and Soil Investigation Guideline (Standards)
    • Small Scale Economic Tunnel Design Guideline (Standards)
  2. Formation of NGS Research Grant for Student Members
  3. Coarse book design and publish for school level students to make them understand Geotechnics and Geo-disaster
  4. Introduction of NGS Networking, Mentorship, e-Library and Extreme Events Reconnaissance Program
  5. Guideline preparation for NGS member’s recommendation and participation in international conference organized by ISSMGE and other societies/intitutions.
