NGS Hosts Lecture on Geotechnical Practices in Nepal: Challenges and Opportunities Explored

On September 5, 2024, the Nepal Geotechnical Society (NGS) organized an insightful session under its esteemed NGS Lecture Series titled “Geotechnical Practices in Nepal: Navigating Industry Challenges and Unlocking Opportunities.” Held at DOR Hall, Chakupat, Lalitpur, the event attracted over 60 participants, including students, professionals, and geotechnical practitioners.

The session featured a presentation by Er. Arun Kumar Pandit, the Engineering Entrepreneur Award Winner 2024 and a geotechnical engineer at N.S. Engineering and Geotechnical Services Pvt. Ltd. Er. Pandit shared his vast experience and insights into current geotechnical practices, discussing industry challenges and future opportunities for growth.

The program was hosted by Er. Saroj Adhikari, Coordinator of the NGS Youth Committee. Technical remarks were provided by Er. Uday Raj Neupane, while Dr. Mandip Subedi, President of NGS, presented a token of appreciation to the speaker. Additionally, Er. Ujjwal Niraula provided details about the upcoming NGS Photography Competition 2024, adding an engaging twist to the evening.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Er. Pradeep Pokhrel, and the session’s recorded video is now available on the official YouTube channel of NGS. The event reinforced the society’s commitment to fostering dialogue and collaboration within the geotechnical community in Nepal.
