-International Conference on GIS and Geoinformation for Disaster Mitigation- (28-29 November 2016 @ Kathmandu)

GIZ2016 was inaugurated and started with overwhelming participation of over hundred international and national delegates. Hon. Dil Bahadur Gharti, the Chairperson of the State Affairs Committee of the Legislative Parliament of Nepal was the Chief Guest and Hon. Dr. Gangalal Tuladhar was the Guest of Honor in the opening session. Although prepared in a very short time, the participation is amazingly high. With five keynote papers, four special papers, and 24 general papers, the conference is going to bring in new insights in the field of geotechnology and disaster mitigation. The papers presented by opening keynote lecturers Prof. Dr. Mamoru Mimura of Kyoto University Japan and Dr. Soma Nath Sapkota of the Department of Mines and Geology, Nepal were simply knowledgeable. Yesterday, we had three keynotes and two special papers, and today we are going to have two keynotes and two special papers presented in three sessions besides the general papers.

Thanks to all Geotechnical Engineers, Geo-scientists, and Disaster Mitigation practitioners.
