With a little less than 50 participants, the 5th NGS monthly lecture series was held on 4 April 2019 (21 Chaitra 2075), Thursday, 17:00-19:00 at Institute of Engineering, ICT building hall (Pulchowk, Lalitpur). We had three international experts for this lecture series: two from Canada and one from the United Kingdom. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Doug Stead (Department of Earth Sciences, Simon Fraser University, Canada), Prof. Dr. Nick Rosser (Department of Geology, Durham University, UK), and Jesse Mysiorek (Graduate Student, Simon Fraser University, Canada) on \”Applications of Remote Sensing Numerical Modeling in the Investigation of Landslides.\”
The Program was chaired by the society Vice President Dr. Indra Prasad Acharya. The immediate past president Er. Tuk Lal Adhikari was requested for a brief welcome address in the beginning, and the program was run by Er. Chandra Dev Bhatt, the society Joint Secretary as the master of ceremony. In the end of the lecture, the invited experts were appreciated by the program chair Dr. Acharya and executive committee member Er. Shiva Prasad Nepal (DDG, Department of Roads) with tokens of love. The lecture program was concluded by the closing remarks of the program chair Dr. Acharya.
