Geotechnical Model Competition 2026 Highlights

The Nepal Geotechnical Society successfully organized the Geotechnical Model Competition 2026 on January 16 at the Institute of Engineering Pulchowk Campus Kathmandu as a key pre event for GeoMandu 2027 with the participation of 45 students and engagement from over 500 plus visitors. The competition showcased innovative physical and conceptual models addressing real world geotechnical challenges of Nepal’s complex and mountainous terrain.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 11 student teams representing 4 universities and 8 different engineering colleges, with undergraduate students presenting solutions related to landslides, foundations, slope stabilization, hydropower, flood management, geogrids, and tunnelling.
